Our Teachers

We affectionately know our advisor as “Dr Ray.” Dr Ray first came to Cambodia in 1995 as Academic Coordinator of the USAID/Georgetown University team to restore the National University of Management (then called the Faculty of Business). He moved to Battambang in 1997 to set up a Bachelor of Education program for the teachers of a local language school. Dr Ray holds a both a Bachelor’s Degree and Master’s Degree in Mathematics and a Ph.D. in Mathematics Education. He has taught in developing countries for over 30 years, Dr Ray has authored over 40 books, and has written more than 100 journal articles, research papers, and international conference presentations in the fields of education, mathematics, psycholinguistics, and travel, including Experiencing Cambodia and the well known The Cambodia Less Travelled and Around Battambang.

Tamara has 20 years of teaching experience in the diverse fields of primary, secondary and tertiary education. She is qualified and experienced in teaching students who are differently abled and in TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Other Languages). She has an extensive educational background, holding 5 degrees from Universities in her hometown of Melbourne, Australia, including Masters degrees in Educational Leadership and Management, Disability Education and TESOL. She has presented at conferences internationally. Tamara is passionate about her profession; she is dedicated to the continuous improvement of Education for Cambodian students. Her responsibilities include advising across all of our campuses, she manages our Childcare Houses and is principal of Dewey International School Elite.

Robert has taught English in his homeland of the United States as well as well as abroad. His teaching experience began in 1981 teaching ESL to refugees from Laos as they arrived in the U.S. Robert taught in rural Thailand for several years and is currently teaching in Battambang Cambodia.

Joe was born in New York City, USA, and is fluent in the English and Spanish languages. He graduated as an Electronic Service Technician at The New York Technology Institute. He has worked as an English/Spanish interpreter in New York and Rhode Island States, he holds TEFL certification as well as ESL certification. Joe has also trained as a Public Speaker by the WTBT Society. He is knowledgeable in the arts of speaking English with confidence, making effective business presentations, accent reduction, essay writing, and many other skills. Joe has been a skilled public speaker from age 12, becoming an all-professional speaker at the age of 20.
Teacher Joe’s mission is to inspire and motivate students to wanting to learn English to reach their full potential thus becoming successful in all aspects of their lives.
